Designed in 1982 by Tobia Scarpa for Flos, the Celestia suspension, model 1130, is distinguished by its generous textile diffuser, whose form evokes a corolla or a floating cloud. A white linen fabric, edged with contrasting piping, is stretched over a structure composed of slender steel rods and elements in stamped and powder-coated aluminum. Secured with snap fasteners, the textile takes on a supple, architectural volume, while the light passing through its weave produces a soft, diffuse, and atmospheric glow.
Now out of production, it has become very rare.
