Pierre Charrié's Shibari mirror is inspired by both Japanese bondage techniques and the lifting techniques used in the construction industry.
Without adding any superfluous gestures, Shibari mirror transforms its technical features into formal ones until it is nothing more than a faithfull and harmonius representation of its constructive principles and feasibility.
Tying, tension, gravity and suspension alone would be enough to describe it.
The positioning of its knots and interlacing is guided solely by the need for perfect balance and suspension at a single point. The specific braiding of the rope distributes the tension exerted by the weight of the mirror, leaving the whole thing to rely on the laws of its main condition: gravity.
